Simple Beanie

This was about all I could handle knitting-wise this weekend. On major drugs for a pulled muscle in my back. But I saved a lot of gas since I couldn’t drive 🙂

In my attempt to use up more of the yarn I already own I made a beanie for my co-worker’s two-year-old. She’s completely obsessed with hats and beanies right now. I used leftover Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick in Raspberry and Cranberry (added a strip of cranberry at the last minute when I realized I wouldn’t have enough raspberry for a whole hat), #9 needles.

I cast on 48 stitches, knit in the round for about 4 inches and then decreased until I was down to four stitches, sewed those 4 stitches together and viola, a beanie knit in just a few hours. I forgot how much I love knitting baby/infant stuff. Most of it is so small and knits up so fast. Instant gratification.
