Hair Stylist Dilema

When is enough enough when it comes to your hair stylist? I’ve been going to a hair stylist for almost a year now (another joy of moving – see previous post) and she is consistently 15-30 minutes behind. Just when I’m about to walk out the door the thought of finding someone new makes me cringe. And about the time I start packing up my cell phone, magazine, knitting, whatever I’ve brought to keep me preoccupied she’s ready for me. It never fails.

AND she double books. Every single time. This wouldn’t bother me so much if she scheduled a quick cut and style in the time I’m processing, but nothing about this woman is quick. Is my Saturday afternoon really worth the money I shell out to her ever 8-10 weeks and the 3+ hours I’m usually at the salon? It must be, I keep going back. After a year of this behavior I think I’m finally fed up enough to start getting referrals for someone new. Oh the thought of someone new is so discouraging. What to do, what to do.

To me double booking says that she is more important than you. Ditch her and find someone else.

I had someone once who I wasn’t really comfortable with and changed people – yep, I was too lazy to find a new salon. He did a total double take when he saw me next, but I didn’t really care.
