Monkey Sock Update

So, the only thing I’ve been working on for the last few weeks is my first Monkey sock. I think I like the pattern. It’s kinda slow going and I’m rather impatient. I really adore projects that knit up quickly. It’s that whole instant gratification thing. And for me this pattern takes a whole lot of concentration.  But I wanted to post pics of my progress so far.

O.K., when I actually took these pictures I was about half way done with the heel flap. I am now working on the instep and they are coming together nicely. However, I may come down with second sock syndrom once it’s finished. I usually want to finish a pair of socks right away, but I’m just not feeling it this time. I say that now, but who knows. One more pic – of the leg. Aren’t these colors georgous?! I think the coloring kind of hides the pattern, but I still really like it. It reminds me of urban camo. So fitting in this part of the country.

I think it looks great. I do love the colorway you chose and urban camo really sums it up nicely. I have a major problem with second sock syndrome. I never like the way my socks come out; am taking a sock knitting class next week at my LYS, so hopefully I’ll find out I’m doing something wrong and it’s not just that I hate the way I knit socks. Keep up the good work. I think I might have to try the Monkey pattern, I’ve heard so many good things about it.

I’m never sure about the monkey socks. However, the yarn you have chosen makes it look really good. I love it 😀
