Snow Day

This is what it looked like outside when I left work-at 3:15pm today.

This is what it looked like from the inside of my car. Like my own little igloo 🙂

Isn’t it March? This weather does not look like Spring, which is what I start thinking about in March. I actually feel like I want to pull out my Christmas lights all over again.
This is my first winter in Idaho, so I really don’t know what to expect. But I do love the snow. Especially when I get to leave work an hour and a half early to get home safely (I work about 20 miles away from home). Nevermind the fact that it pretty much stopped snowing around 4:15ish. But better safe than sorry, right?

Back to me loving the snow. I get so excited when I see the slightest hint of a snowflake. Out comes the camera and I snap pictures like crazy. Yes, even while driving snowy conditions.

You’d think I’d never seen snow in my life. So not true. I was born and raised (for the first 9 years of my life) in South Lake Tahoe, where snow is a season. And every so often there is even snow in the summer. Maybe seeing snow again brings back childhood memories. Or maybe it’s because for the last 18 year of my life I haven’t lived anywhere that really snowed during the winter. I don’t know what it is, but I love seeing snow everywhere.

Out our back yard.

Of course I have to mention our my neurotic Ginger. Everytime we open the door she bolts right for the snow to gobble up as much as she can. For as much as this dog finds and eats off the ground you’d think we were starving her.

All this cold weather has got me cooking up soup and finally wanting to knit again. More on those two subjects later.
